An electronic medical record system stores clinical information: history, diagnoses, treatment notes and results. Clinic management software includes the EMR but also covers the business of running the practice - scheduling, invoicing, payments, inventory, staff permissions and reporting. A clinic that buys an EMR alone usually ends up keeping a separate diary and spreadsheet alongside it.
